Montclair to Whitman

In 1903 it took a letter 14 hours (and 2 cents) to travel 238 miles...for some reason I thought it would have taken longer. Really appreciate that the post office took the time to stamp the envelope with such detail so I could figure that out.

    Angie, it looks so beautiful with the transfer on the envelope, how clever, - and the speed- yes I would have thought that ,too--have it at all been quicker ?:)--
