Family that doesn't belong to me

I guess there is something odd about working with portraits and photos of people long ago. They aren't my ancestors but they are someones family. Wonder if they are long forgotten folks or if maybe someday someone will send me a message saying.."Hey that's my great great grandfather"...

Guess it's unlikely to happen.

I moved on to making ovals and circles the last few days and I'm totally in love with them, it's going to be hard to put them in the shop...
What I'm really thinking about is making some completed pieces for the shop. It's nice to have some variety, even if it's mostly inspiration for others who only want to buy the components.

Any thoughts, how would you use these in your work...I'm thinking buttons , pearls and lace but draw a blank after that. Should they be necklaces, brooches or maybe bracelets?? Or am I overlooking other projects these could be useful for?

Brooches are in keeping with your period -- on a filigre backing and I think keeping it in the sepia tones is elegant. A possible idea would be to use them like a man's watch fob on a chain - that would be really cool for customizing them with their children's or wife's picture! Another service you could "offer".

Angie, these are GREAT! I would definitely put these on a brooch. You could mount them on some really pretty filigree would be beautiful!

Hello Angie...I love, love, love old pictures too. And I do think sometimes that it is a bit odd to be "using" someone's family pictures in my jewelry as well. But I treasure them and hold them in high regard. Your new pieces are just gorgeous...wow. I especially love the bottom set with the sweet baby and the little girl. :-)

These are so lovely, Angie. They remind of those pieces that were common (at least in Germany) in the 50's; which were actually photos mounted like buttons in a bezel to wear as a brooch or pendant.

Dear Angie, I love them-and would love to see them as brooches--maybe inside a pleaded rosette of some kind!?
I know lots of people ,that don`t understand me using "people I don`t know" in my collages---but it is only with respect,we uses those old beauties.
Hugs,Dorthe

Thank you all for your ideas. Hoping to spend some time tonight creating something out of them.
